DeVault Law is a boutique law firm representing property owners across the state of Colorado with construction disputes, including defects, nonpayment, breach of contract, and contract enforcement.
Founded in 2021 by Tessa DeVault, a Colorado native with a passion for serving her community since 2013, our firm is dedicated to protecting the rights and interests of our clients when construction or real estate transactions don’t go as planned.

Tessa DeVault graduated from the University of Colorado Law School. Following graduation, she clerked for the Honorable Patrick Murphy, Chief Judge of the Seventeenth Judicial District. Tessa has practiced construction law nearly her entire career in both litigation and transactional settings. She is lead trial counsel with extensive courtroom experience. Tessa has successfully resolved numerous cases before a lawsuit is filed as well as managing all phases of litigation in state district court and arbitration.
Tessa is a Colorado native who was born and raised in Colorado Springs. Following her undergraduate career at the University of Colorado Boulder where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, she moved to Steamboat Springs and fell in love with the small-town resort lifestyle. After law school, Tessa returned to the Yampa Valley where she started her firm and her family. Tessa spends her time between Steamboat Springs, Eagle County, and the Denver Metro area maintaining close relationships with her family. In her spare time, Tessa loves skiing, hiking, and soaking up the Colorado sun with her partner Jason and their two young children.

Jessica Piccone is a paralegal at DeVault Law with seven years of experience in the construction defect and real estate non-disclosure field. She has had the privilege of working alongside Tessa DeVault for the majority of her paralegal career.
Jessica earned her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Missouri with minors in Journalism and Spanish. After graduation, she interned at The Missouri Review as a fiction editor.
In her free time, she enjoys cooking, exploring nature trails with her husband and dog, reading and writing, and cuddling with her two cats.
